About Me
Background
I am of Northern Irish and Eastern European Jewish descent, and I was born and raised on the unceded homelands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations (Vancouver, BC).
I grew up with stories of war, displacement, and survival from both sides of my family. These experiences left a legacy of intergenerational trauma that I’ve explored deeply in my own therapy and healing. One core lesson I carry is that oppression is never justified. “Never again” must mean never again for all people. While my family found refuge here, I also recognize this came at the expense of Indigenous peoples whose lands we now live on and who continue to experience displacement and systemic violence.
Community Work
Before becoming a clinical counselor, I spent many years working as a community organizer and facilitator focused on anti-oppression and social justice work. I also spent five years using interactive theatre with queer and trans youth, experiences that deeply shaped my understanding of identity, embodiment, gender, sexuality, and collective healing.
Sex, Pleasure, and Healing
Learning about sex and sexuality has been one of the greatest sources of joy in my life! Alongside healing from sexual trauma, I care deeply about cultivating sexual joy, empowerment, embodied pleasure, intimacy, and connection. I’m also interested in the ways sacred sexuality and spiritual experience can support healing and transformation.
Trauma and Possibility
My understanding of trauma has been shaped by witnessing how colonialism, capitalism, white supremacy, genocide, and displacement impact both individual and collective life. I believe these forces shape not only our inner worlds, but also our relationships, communities, and sense of possibility.
I believe healing is possible, and that it can open pathways toward deeper connection, liberation, embodiment, and more joyful ways of being.
