I am of Northern Irish and Eastern European Jewish descent, and I was born and raised on the unceded homelands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations (Vancouver, BC).
Intergenerational Trauma and Healing
I grew up with stories of war, displacement, and survival from both sides of my family. These experiences left a legacy of intergenerational trauma that I’ve explored deeply in my own therapy. One core lesson I carry is that oppression is never justified—never again must mean never again for all people. While my family found refuge here, I acknowledge this came at the expense of Indigenous peoples, whose lands we now live on and who have long been displaced and marginalized.
Social Justice and Queer Community Work
Before becoming a clinical counselor, I spent many years as a community organizer and facilitator, working on issues of anti-oppression and social justice. I also spent five years using interactive theatre with queer and trans youth, work that deepened my passion for exploring gender, sexuality, and identity.
Sex, Pleasure, and Healing
Learning about sex and sexuality is one of the greatest sources of joy in my life! I believe that healing from sexual trauma is essential and I’m equally committed to what comes after and alongside: cultivating sexual joy, empowerment, embodied pleasure, and connection. I’m deeply interested in how sacred sex and spiritual connection—however defined—can support healing
How I Work
I work primarily with EMDR Therapy, while also incorporating tools and perspectives from other trainings and modalities I’ve studied over the years. I specialize in trauma, from PTSD to the effects of complex or developmental trauma rooted in early family experiences, as well as sex therapy, body-based awareness, and deep, root-level transformation.
Individual and Group Work
I work with individuals in one-on-one sessions and facilitate groups for people healing from recent, prolonged, or ongoing trauma, such as refugees, displaced communities, and those affected by environmental or manmade disasters. A major focus of my practice is training clinicians in EMDR and providing dedicated support and supervision to enhance their work.
My Approach: Trauma Is Political
My work is grounded in the belief that trauma is not just individual—it is political. The violence many of us carry is inseparable from the violence of colonialism, white supremacy, capitalism, and systemic oppression. These forces shape the land we live on, the bodies we live in, and the communities we come from.
A Belief in Possibility
I believe that healing is not only possible, but also a doorway to imagining and building more liberated, deeply connected, and joyful ways of being.
